Here are a few reasons why we love summer and an update on what Taylor has been up to!

Taylor loves to be outside during the sumer. She thinks that the front step at my mom's house was made just for her to sit on. She'll sit here forever. Especially when pooka gives her a juicebox.

At the beginning of the summer Adam was outside checking out the sprinklers and since she now goes to bed when its still light outside during the summer, we went out to say goodnight to daddy. I thought it was a cute moment between them. And it was until....
the next thing I know, Adam is spraying her with the sprinklers....while she was in her pajamas.
There's the difference between mommies and daddies.

But she loved it, even though the water was freezing cold. Blue lips and all.

We've been doing some landscaping in our yard and Taylor has been a HUGE help. I don't know how many flowers she killed "smelling" them and carrying them around the yard. She has these awesome barbie shades that she loves to wear everywhere. And she found this pacifier in a drawer that is from when she was about 3 months old. So, every once in awhile she finds it and sucks on it forever. Even though she looks pretty silly doing it.

Smelling the plant...

We love bike rides in the summer evenings. Adam got me a bike for my birthday and Taylor loves to climb in the carrier. She'll play in it forever. As for the actual bikeride, about 10-15 minutes into it, she's done.

My cousin Garrett and his wife and kids stayed in Logan on their way home to New Mexico. We all got together at my parents house and had a bbq. We always love it when they come up to visit. Here are a few pictures of the kids during the bbq. This is their little girl Taylor. She is about 8 months older than my Taylor. I don't think I have ever seen bigger eyes on another child. So cute! And even though they are all pretty close in age, she let my Taylor and Jacob know that she was older, by always telling them, "Move babies!"

It always makes me laugh what poses kids come up with when you are taking pictures of them. Luke told me to take a picture of him like this. Not sure why. But I did it and he was quite satisfied by it when I showed it to him. Crazy kid.

Sydney wanted a picture of herself like this one. Looks like she's enjoying her food.

Adam wanted a picture of his food. : ) Looks delicious. Watermelon and Breelyn's rainbow jello was a hit.

This picture cracks me up because it's so typical of these kids. Sydney and Nathan are beating eachother with bats, and Taylor is oblivious because she is deep in conversation on her cell phone.

Now Sydney and Nathan join forces to beat the unarmed Luke instead. We like to teach our children the power of teamwork here.

And ofcourse, here's sydney now beating up Zach. I think I know who the ringleader is here.

I thought Taylor would like to run through the sprinklers at my parent's house but she wasn't all that fond of it. But give her a running hose and she's occupied for hours. Too bad that redheaded skin can't be out in it that long!

We took Taylor to a little petting zoo. She liked the cow, but could have done without all the animals except for the bunnies. She wouldn't leave them. I was worried she was going to "hug" one to death.

There were cute little baby birds in the vines in my parents back yard. And everytime Taylor would run within 20 feet of the nest the mommy bird would fly right down to Taylor and squak and squeak. Taylor thought they were friends.

Summer time has been great. We love to go outside and play and having bbq's with friends and family. It hasn't been too hot yet and its been so pretty and green and lots of flowers have been in bloom. Taylor loves it! We hope everyone else is having a great summer too!

Here are a few more pictures of Taylor that I love. Here she is the other morning putting all of her babies in mom and dad's bed and covering them up so they can sleep. She was so cute.

Just cuddling...

On the fourth of July me, Adam and Taylor went with my mom and Lisa to watch the fireworks. We parked on the side of the road and had a perfect view. We always get cherries and eat them during the show and Taylor must have eaten a pound of them herself. She liked being able to throw the stems on the ground on the dirt. She could finally throw her food on the ground and not get in trouble. It was a dream come true for her. Although ever since then when we have cherries she throws the stems on the floor of the kitchen. She did pretty good considering it was nearly 3 hours after her bedtime. She ooohed and awwwwed with my mom during the first song and then was finished. We ended up leaving during the finale, but we made good time home instead of the hour it usually takes us to get home in the traffic on the fourth.

I just love this picture because this is how I see my little Taylor all the time looking down at her. Such a cutie.

Here's she is flossing. She is very concerned about the health of her teeth. I buy her little kid toothbrushes but she doesn't want them. She wants mine. I've gone through so many tooth brushes lately because no matter what, she finds mine and pretty soon I can't find it. And even if I could I'm pretty sure I don't want to use it. Who knows where she had it. She loves to floss. And thinks she's so funny when doing it. And I agree, she is pretty funny.

Daddy's shoes dwarf her little feet but that doesn't stop her from trying to walk in them all the time. Oh, this is disgusting, but I'll put it on here so I'll remember it years from now and can embarrass her in front of her friends and stuff. We have to keep all our shoes behind closed doors and away from Taylor now because once she picked up my shoe and I saw her lick the bottom of it and say, "mmmm." I, of course, freaked out and took it from her and told her that its dirty and gross and we don't do that. So ever since that moment if there is a shoe around she'll run and grab it, look at me and lick the bottom of it, and say, "mmmmmmm." Just to make me mad. All together now, let's say it, "EEEEEWWWWW." I know it's gross. Anyway, shoes are off limits for taylor, unless supervised.

This last picture is so cute to me because this perfectly depicts my little Tater. Big old mouth wide open, arms at her side, screaming at the top of her lungs just to hear how loud her voice can go. She's a pretty quite kid for the most part, but sometimes she just wants to hear her own voice and this is what she looks like doing it. I love it. Makes me laugh everytime. Oh, Tater, you're a cutie. Except for the licking shoes thing, that's still gross.

Oreos with Papa!

My dad was home last month and he and Taylor shared some oreos and milk. She loved it. We miss you papa!

Pretty cute.

She loves her some pooka! They are reading a book together. I love this picture.

Poopie Karma

My cousin had posted on her blog about reading her friends blog about how her kid left a little floating poopie in the tub for her after bath time. My cousin said that she laughed about it and was glad that her kids hadn't done that to her. Of course after that, karma left a little poopie in the tub for her after her boys enjoyed bath time. Once I read that I knew that karma was coming after me. It hadn't happened with Taylor yet, but I knew it would. A couple days later Taylor was in the bath and I heard a couple tooties so I hurried and got her out and got her in a diaper and I was quite proud of myself. I thought I had out-smarted karma. Or at the very least i thought I was faster than karma. Then the other day I was in a hurry so I just threw Taylor in the shower with me and I was rinsing the shampoo out of my hair thinking that the shower was quick and easy and now we could get ready and out the door. When I looked down Taylor reached up to me and tried to hand me the poopie she now had in her hand. And another little present was on the floor of the tub. I was horrified! Anyway, I got out soaking wet, water all over the bathroom floor and cleaned the poopie up , Taylor up, myself up, the bathroom floor up and sanitized the tub. A quick and easy shower? Ha! I hate you poopie karma. Yes I do. Thanks a lot Elise. Needless to say, it wasn't one of my most glamorous moments.

Crazy Walk

Taylor had this weird/funny walk that she would do for awhile and I was never able to get in on video, but I got a few snapshots of the process. It always made us laugh because she was so serious when she did it. It doesn't happen much anymore, but it was hilarious while it lasted.

Easter ( I know, I know, I'm behind)

We dyed easter eggs again this year. It was fun and messy and our fingers were stained for days. Taylor would take the eggs and crush them in her hands and try to eat them shells and all.

Taylor is having a blast, as you can see.

Adam even got in on the egg dying. He became quite creative and some were works of art. Mine were, well.. less than works of art. It was a good time. Shawna and Lisa came over for easter dinner and we had a feast. Shawna decorated a gorgeous cake and Lisa made.... well those canned olives were scrumptious! :) It was a good day.

The Pypers!

Taylor loved her Taraka! They were instantly buddies!

I really had high hopes that Taylor and Tucker would hit it off and there would be sparks and they would be life long loves. Then they would get married, have babies and live happily ever after, but I think taylor was playing hard to get.
We told Tucker to give Taylor a hug and a kiss. Obviously they both really enjoyed it.

Taraka and I were companions in the MTC and again in Chicago while we were serving our missions. Her husband served in Chicago too, so these two are some of my favorite people in the world and I'm so grateful for the time we had there. They came down from Washington for conference weekend. Thanks for driving out of your way to come and see us. Tucker is such a sweet and funny kid. I'm so glad I finally got to meet him. Next time we see eachother Taylor and I won't get sick so we can finally spend more time together! I miss you guys but I'm so grateful for the good old worldwide web so I feel like I live closer to you and can keep up with your life!

We're grown ups

Since we are soon to be 30, I thought it was about time we have a grown up bedroom. For our entire adult lives neither of us had had a bedroom set. Just a bed on a metal frame. I don't know why we never got one before. I guess it just wasn't a necessity so we bought everything else before it. Anyway, we decided to buy one and it arrived the other day. Furniture always looks smaller in the store. It didn't seem like it would fit but my mom and Lisa came over and worked their magic. I didn't want to post pictures earlier because Adam was out of town and I wanted him to see it in person not pictures. I feel like a grown up now. Good bye TV trays/nightstands. We now have nice bedroom furniture! We can now successfully move on to our 30's. Well, not for a little while longer. I will hold on to the 20's as long as I can!
